Compass MPs Chair Jon Trickett leads the Trident debate

Compass held a packed meeting in the House of Commons earlier tonight, as part of our ‘Rethink Trident’ Campaign.

Jon Trickett MP, Chair of the Compass Group of MPs (pictured above), led a heavy weight panel of speakers including the Rt Rev Dr Thomas Butler, the Bishop of Southwark; international human rights campaigner Bianca Jagger; Gemma Tumelty, President of the National Union of Students (NUS); Kate Hudson of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) and John Sauven, the Executive Director of Greenpeace UK. Victoria Climbie’s Memory Lives On

Monday night saw the inaugural annual Victoria Climbie lecture, to remember the life of eight year Victoria, who was so cruelly taken from us eight years ago.

As part of the Victoria Climbie Foundation’s relaunch, my good friend Jon Worth (who designed the website you’re currently visiting), designed a new website for the Foundation.

I think it’s a beautiful website and a fitting tribute to little Victoria.

Many residents living in Leyton, Grove Green and Forest wards, may recognise the photo of the front cover of the latest ‘Leyton E10 Local Directory’ edited by local resident Clare McCaughren.

The E10 Local Directory was launched back in the autumn. It is choc full of information about local community events and notices, and it is also extremely handy for finding out about the services offered by many of Leyton’s smaller businesses – who as many of you will know, I am keen to support.
